Albuquerque Area Southwest Tribal Epidemiology Center (AASTEC)

The Albuquerque Area Southwest Tribal Epidemiology Center (AASTEC), a program of the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Board, Inc. (AAIHB), is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for paid Spring 2026 internship placements. These opportunities are designed to support students and recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in public health, health education, research or related fields.

 

📌ELIGIBILITY

Applicants of all backgrounds are welcome. In alignment with our mission as an American Indian Alaska Native tribal-serving organization, preference is given to those from federally or state-recognized tribes.

Current Students: This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a degree program within a public health or allied field.

Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least one full year of college coursework.

Students interested in completing a practicum, capstone, or other field experience requirement for academic credit may contact me directly at ntsosie@aaihb.org <mailto:ntsosie@aaihb.org> .

Recent Graduates: We are also accepting applications from individuals who have completed a master’s degree within the past two years for professional internship placements. Professional interns commit to a 6-month placement and work approximately 30 hours per week.
