Conservation Advocacy Training Opportunities
Grand Canyon Regional Intertribal Intergenerational Stewardship Expedition (RIISE): This Colorado River trip is designed to connect Indigenous young people, ages 16-20 years old, with ancestral homelands in Grand Canyon. Led by cultural knowledge holders, selected applicants discuss the Grand Canyon through traditional teachings, storytelling, historical context, and ecological consciousness. Program dates are July 19th – July 27th, 2026. Applications accepted until March 23, 2026.
LeaderShift: This field-based leadership training program takes young people, ages 18-27, across the Colorado Plateau to build change-making and advocacy skills. Participants learn about the legacy of energy extraction on Black Mesa, its impacts on local communities, and paths toward more just and equitable futures. Project dates are August 8th – August 15th, 2026. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
