Student Trainee (Biological Science)


Only experience and education obtained by 01/19/2024 will be considered. As a Student Trainee (Biological Sciences) your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Participates in conducting field work such as collection and sorting of plant, animal and water samples and specimens, and water quality data. Assists with a variety of biological/wildlife presentations to facilitate refuge environmental education programs. Works closely with senior staff to coordinate with private landowners, other federal and state agencies, and nongovernmental partners to carry out low complexity, non-controversial habitat restoration projects. In a developmental capacity, assists in responding to written, telephone, and in-person inquiries from the public and news media. Informs the public and other agencies and groups about the work of the assigned program area and the general programs and objectives of the Fish and Wildlife Service. Provides requested information within established guidelines of the office and in conformance with FWS and Departmental policy. There are 5 positions open and application deadline is 1/19/23
