New Mexico Legislative Internships
The Legislative Internship Program employs interested undergraduate & graduate students and recent graduates in the New Mexico Legislature, working directly for one of the legislature's three nonpartisan staff agencies.Interns work with experienced legislative staff members, legislators, committees, state agencies and the public to gain practical experience in day-to-day legislative staff work. Work performed may include legal and policy analysis, research on issues, speech writing, budget analysis and committee staffing. In-state travel is required, while work-from-home may be offered on a case-by-case basis. The program is for students attending New Mexico schools and New Mexico residents attending nearby schools. Interns are competitively selected based on interview, statement of interest, resumé and transcript. Please submit above materials to internship@nmlegis.gov.
