The purpose of this internship position will be to assist the WRAP with maintenance of GIS applications, geodatabases, feature classes related to OSE Conveyances within the scope of mapping Acequias. The internship will be to assist primarily with the Acequia Name Reporting survey through Survey 123 GIS web application to review all current available data in GIS and tabular formats to complete the naming of Acequias within the OSE Conveyance Layer that is maintained in ArcGIS Online. The position will also assist with the development, refinement and testing of mobile data collection through Field Maps for ArcGIS, Survey 123 for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Pro for the use of WRAP field personnel in the WRAP Districts as coordinated through OSE GIS. The incumbent will have experience in geodatabase design, intermediate to advanced GIS fundamentals, working knowledge of python, arcade, or JavaScript, and be familiar with ArcGIS Online. The ideal candidate MUST have experience with or be familiar with mobile device operating systems such as android or iOS and windows MS Office products. The candidate will also will have taken Map Use and Analysis, Cartography and GIS, Fundamentals of GIS, or equivalents of these courses. How does it get done? Reviewing hydrographic surveys, report lists, and other sources for attributes completeness of acequia names within the conveyance layer. Assist with geodatabase design, and implementation of geodatabase, feature classes to be used within web maps for field data collection. Assist with testing of field collection deployments. Assist with web application development and other related duties. Who are the customers? OSE Staff Members Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has or should have experience in the following: - Experience in geodatabase design. - Experience with intermediate to advanced GIS fundamentals. - Possess a working knowledge of python, arcade, or JavaScript, and be familiar with ArcGIS Online. - Must have experience with or be familiar with mobile device operating systems such as android or iOS and windows MS Office products. - Good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with others to provide assistance. - Excellent writing skills. Minimum Qualification Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university OR completion of at least four semesters (or equivalent) at an accredited college or university within the last two (2) years. Employment Requirements May be required to ride in a state vehicle with another state employee. Working Conditions State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination. Work is performed in an office setting with extensive personal computer usage and phone usage. Sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required.
